Spike Spiegel died. WTF?

So I finished Cowboy Bebop, and I’d like to ask one question: why did Spike HAVE to die? Seriously?
I can’t believe it ended like that. And then Ed leaves, Jet is shot up, Faye is still lost, etc.
The show was AMAZING, none the less. Definitely going in my favorite anime list. ^o^
Although, despite Spike’s pain when she died, I’m kinda glad that Julia got shot. I think it’s due to a fangirl grudge… I was the same way with InuYasha: if it wasn’t for Kikyo the whole show would have pwned 40% more than it already did, and I’m glad that she fell off the cliff. XD
Hmmm. What a sad thing to say. Oh well, she was dead to begin with anyway… O.o
And if you actually read this, I have probably boggled your mind with useless information about a TV show that you will never watch. Of course, this is only an assumtion going towards the general public (aka my Facebook friends), so I could be wrong.
Anyway, Spike’s death has definately ruined my week.
